Our community outreach efforts include programs that will engage local schools and high schools, allowing students to benefit from our educational offerings in Acting, Screenwriting, and Filmmaking. These programs will enable students to earn college credit and receive artistic training that may not be available in their schools. Additionally, we work with inmates and collaborate with other pertinent non-profits to extend our impact and support various community needs.

The Westside Film Society
An Educational and Entertainment program for the Exposition Corridor Neighborhoods providing a home for film lovers left without a theater since the legendary Landmark Theatre closed.
ABOUT
The new Westside Film Society will be launching in Fall 2024 as a special membership program held at our in-house theatre, The Promenade Playhouse to provide exclusive access to independent and foreign films, teleplays, along other visual content to the big screen in West Los Angeles.  ​

Westside Film Society will not only screen content but also provide the unique experience of learning about the various creative processes involved in the craft of filmmaking by offering Q&As, lectures, and workshops with the filmmakers themselves from a variety of departments ranging from directors, producers, writers, show-runners, set and costume designers, special effects artists and sound designers.
​Westside Film Society will partner with local community and business organizations to ensure robust engagement of members by representing a diverse showcase of programming. VIP meet and greets along with providing a space and serving as an Arts beacon in the community through fostering connections and friendships between members and the greater community in the West Los Angeles area who are interested in film and the arts.
COMMUNITY BENEFITS

Quarterly, there will be a free night of educational screenings scheduled open and accessible to the community at large. ​​

Once a year (our year is July 1st – June 30th) – there will be a special free screening for the local Senior Center.

Once a year, there will be two free educational screenings open to all the schools in our district.
